Chronicle is a platform that enables users with shared experiences and interests to collaborate and share photos with the world. In early 2016 I joined Chronicle and began work on their iOS MVP design. Since then I have designed and seen the app through public launch to the App Store and website.

Responsibilities: Product design (iOS app design, web design, project management), branding, communication graphics, analytics

Primary Tools: Sketch App, Invision App, Photoshop, Illustrator

One of the biggest challenges I faced in designing Chronicle’s interface was the numerous options each chronicle and photo had. Chronicles can be:

  • Public or private

  • Moderated by one person or many

  • Require photo approval or not

Additionally, chronicles are categorized into categories (and subcategories) and arranged by either date of photo taken or date the photo is uploaded. As you can imagine, presenting all these options in a clear, concise way is tricky! I think I came up with a good balance without overwhelming the user.

Brand Guidelines

In addition to the product design, I also helped develop the brand guidelines.
